Wall Brown is the fearless Quartermaster of the Twenty-One Butterflies. She is nineteen years old when we meet her in the first book in the series, Butterfly Islands.
Wall Brown grew up in mines to the far west of Gallows Sound. Her upbringing in first the mines and later in a travelling freak show has left her with immense strength that exceeds that of most men. She was only twelve years old when the owner of the freak show had her fight grown men for entertainment. However, she was rescued by the Twenty-One Butterflies who took her in as a part of the pirate group.
Despite her amost brute-like nature, Wall brown hopes to one day put pirating behind her and find a husband and settle down.
As quartermaster, Wall Brown succeeds Captain Blue as Captain of the Twenty-One Butterflies.
